Recipe, kind of

Threw this together the other night and my family loved it so much that I made it again the next night!

I am not a recipe girl, so there are no exact directions, but here’s what I did:

-Boil some pasta while steaming some broccoli (to steam broccoli, throw broccoli and a cup of water and some butter in a covered pan on low until it’s soft)

-Throw on a cookie sheet: chopped up bell pepper, mushrooms, and bacon (I did two packs of bacon, but I’m feeding a crowd)

-Put the cookie sheet in the oven at 350 until they look done, then crank up to 450 for a few minutes till the bacon is more crispy

-Strain pasta and add a crapload of grass fed butter, salt, and garlic salt

-For kids, serve separately because those weirdos get bent out of shape when things are all mixed up… at least at my house

-For adults, I love everything from the cookie sheet mixed in with the pasta, and I add parmesan on top.

PLAY CLOSET MAKEOVER!

This closet is underneath our stairs, and it is right by our living room and my office.

When we built our house, I knew we’d eventually turn it into a “play closet,” because it’s the perfect little spot for kiddos in the infant-4 year old range for two purposes:

1) My little kiddos to play nearby while I’m working in my office

2) We entertain a lot, and it’s a great little nook for kids to be right near the adults in the living room.

It took awhile to get around to this project, but I’m glad we finally did! It’s perfect!

MEYER HATCHERY CHICKS

The best mail = fluff mail!

This chirpy box of cuteness arrived at the post office for us last month. Everyone arrived healthy & happy (and so dang cute)!

 

This is our third batch of Cornish Cross chickies to raise up. We went with Meyer Hatchery because they’re the best of the best.

Right away, we give them “magic water” which is water with some apple cider vinegar, raw honey, and a drop of oregano essential oil. It gives them a natural health boost and we have had such success with our holistically-raised chickens doing this the past 5 years.

Here are the chickies after just 3 weeks! They moved out of the brooder a couple weeks ago and into the grass & sunshine.
