“Fall demonstrates how beautiful it can be to let things go” 🍂
Things to let go of: overscheduling, perfectionism, the compulsion to try and please everyone, keeping up with the Joneses (the Joneses are exhausted & miserable, I promise!), resentment, unforgiveness (of self & others), old mindsets that don’t serve you, lack mentality, the belief that you have to stay who you’ve always been, the need to know what’s going to happen next, bitterness (do you catch yourself critiquing people instead of rooting for them to win?), and withholding your gifts — because the world needs them! Let. That. Crap. Go.
This is going to sound reeeeal hippy dippy, but if you’re shocked by that, you clearly don’t know me well enough yet 😜 I want you to join me in closing your eyes and picturing yourself as a HUGE, mighty, tree. Let each one of the things mentioned above be a leaf, and picture it falling off you and onto the ground at your feet. (The need to please everyone… falling like a leaf off of you and onto the ground… perfectionism… falling like a leaf off of you and onto the ground…) As each leaf falls, you are more free, and you grow taller and taller up toward the sky above, and your roots grow stronger and sturdier into the earth below. As you do this, you become more unshakeable by the wind. Your strength increases. Let go of each thing you need to let go of, and picture it in your mind as a leaf falling to the ground. Do it! I swear you’ll feel amazing. You may even choose to start your day this way all fall long.
