Happy Mother’s Day, mamas (and step mamas, and birth mamas, and mamas in law, and foster mamas, and grieving mamas, and those on their journey to become mamas, and anyone who is a soft place to land in the world for any child). Your work is valuable beyond measure, all of it – seen and unseen (though I believe Jesus sees it all!) and you are so beautiful in your sacrificing. Cheers to you and the fabulous job you are doing!
Mother’s Day morning I was awakened by my sweet children, coffee, and donuts. And this super sweet yet super insulting note that made me pee my pants laughing.
“I can’t believe you can parent 4 kids. I’m surprised you can even handle 1. You are a good mom and you are having a baby! You are definitely going to need to let me and Story handle (baby). PS use that big ball” (my birth ball)

Seriously, I couldn’t breathe from laughing so hard. BLESS IT.
And I know it’s kinda weird, but I couldn’t let the day go by without shouting out this dude:
It would be a lot less fun being a mom without him as my partner.
After I opened my hilariously insulting Mother’s Day card, I asked him what we should do that day and he goes, “want me to rent us a boat on a lake or something?” Then strapped the paddle boards to the top of the car and off we went on an adventure.
Life with him is never boring. He sees the good in all people and can find the positive in all situations. He’s so good for me. And so good for these little arrows we’re in charge of! And as a stay at home family, he deserves as much recognition on this day as I do since he’s on duty as much (or more) than I am.
Thanks babe for setting me up for success as a mom by being the BEST dad. I loooooooove you!
So off we went on our boating adventure!
It was the little two’s first time tubing and they loved it as much as the big two do! The hugest smiles all around. My heart was full.
(These are all iphone pics, which has become the norm around here, but I occasionally have to apologize for their crappiness… so I’m sorry for their crappiness!)
We stayed out on the lake until dinner time. It was a good, good day.
It feels funny that I should be given gifts on Mother’s Day, when Mother’s Day is already the celebration of being given the biggest gift of all. I am so thankful to be these kids’ mom!
XOXO
