Today was a dream.
(That’s Nolan’s “LET’S GO!” face, not crying face)
I can’t wait to fill up that fifth cubby in July.
“They love to tell you ‘stay inside the lines,’ but something’s better on the other side.” – John Mayer
My favorite song lyric for more than a decade.
The norm, the way the world acts and thinks and lives, it’s not a mandatory thing. I see a lot of people living inside those lines who don’t look fulfilled, and yet they still push the lines on everyone else. There might be a “certain way” we’re expected to do things, to work, to raise kids, to sit down and accept, but that never has to be your way. There’s adventure and opportunity and a new way of life outside those lines. Question those lines. Push them. Ditch them completely if your heart desires. There’s something better on the other side. (Now cue “I wanna run through the halls of my high school, I want to scream at the top of my lungs, I just found out there’s no such thing as the real world, just a lie we’ve got to rise above”)
Amen, friends?
So thankful for this journey, and for all that lies outside the lines.
XOXO
