We’ve lived on the farm for 5 months and I’ve lost count of how many rainbows we’ve seen. Easily ten times the amount I’d seen in my entire life before now.
Every morning I get up before the sun and watch the sky drench with the most vivid beautiful colors, and every night I stand on the back porch with a baby on my hip soaking in the same. (Oddly, the sunrises are my favorite… I’m a reformed “non morning person”!)
The fog in the mornings is so beautiful, too. Slowly all the animals start to wake up. The birds swoosh by our big living room windows by the dozen… it lasts probably a full minute. Every single morning.
This was the rainbow the night my water broke with Acre.
Good morning, farm!
I said on instagram the other day, but I’ll say it again… the biggest way to describe my feelings when I see these skies (and they’re SO MUCH more intense in person) is: “The God who made this sky is trustworthy.”
When I stand in the presence of these skies and rainbows I am aware of how small I am and how big He is. How big His plans are. How detailed and specific His love is.
I wish I could share this feeling with everyone. I hope you can feel at least some of it through these photos!
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. – Psalm 19:1
