We are having a chill, relaxed summer waiting for baby boy. And he’s almost here! I can officially say he is due next month. Time flies when you’re having fun.
So I promised Seaside was our last trip before baby bro is born, but I lied a little bit. We ended up going to Dallas as a family a couple weeks ago, and I did a quick 24-hour trip to the Magnolia Silos in Waco yesterday. BUT SERIOUSLY WE ARE DONE NOW. (Real talk: not ONE person in our family has the gift of sitting still 😉 )
While in Dallas, we stayed at the Gaylord Texan which is always super fun. And super Texan.
We had delicious room service and we swam our hearts out. Poor Story stepped on a bee. She is so tough. After oils (which we never leave the house without!), a few minutes of mama snuggles, and a few flowers from little sis, she was back in the pool happy as a clam.
We hit up our favorite ninja gym with our friends the Tallos & Haggertons. We have a few kids between us… 12 and counting. (I am finding out that once you have a lot of kids, you can pretty much only hang out with other people who have a lot of kids and understand your chaos. Other people will truly fear you. As they most definitely should.)
The Tallos were kind enough to let us swim the day away at their house. The kids are already begging to go back.
Other happenings:
-One of my best friends had a baby! She had a natural birth at our midwife’s birth center, and I was able to be present for it. It will go down as one of the most profound and beautiful experiences of my life. More on that soon, including tons of photos which were taken with my actual camera. But anyways — we’ve been snuggling him!
-Lots of summer swimming
-Ty got a drone and is borderline obsessed with it. I fully support it because he has taken the coolest pictures with it and we have some super cool plans of ways to use it.
-Lots of watermelon. I think we’re over 30 already and summer’s just started. We do not mess around with watermelon. We just don’t.
-Lots of sno cones
-Swim lessons the past two weeks
-Golf camp for C, and lots of golfing with daddy on the side. I’ve said it a million times, but it’s such a blessing to have him home with us 24/7!
-Working on lots of new stuff for our team
-One of my other best friends had a baby tooo! He smells amazing and I look forward to taking #allthepictures of him to share soon. And to maybe stealing him. I’ll keep you posted.
Highlights of my SUPER QUICK trip to Magnolia yesterday:
-Got to be with our precious friends the McLeans and the Haggertons
-We got a private tour of all the behind the scenes stuff at the silos… buuuuuuut my pregnant feet swelled up like crazy and I needed to find a bench like 10 minutes into it and I ended up missing most of it. LAME.
-I bought #ALLTHEFLOWERS (the most incredible selection of faux flowers). I had them shipped home, so they will be here soon!
-I drooled over every square inch of the entire perfectly-branded place. I will be going back. Preferably 60 pounds lighter and not in the dead of summer.
It was a fun trip!
BUMPDATE:
-We’re a little over 33 weeks
-Things are large
-The apps say babe is around 4.5 pounds
-He is head down!
-We have everything we need for him, just need to hang a couple things on the walls
-I’ve had some practice contractions, which I’ve never had with past pregnancies. They’re exciting.
-I am willing to bet he has hair if the heartburn correlation is true
-There is some severe waddling going on
-It’s starting to feel like there’s a real baby coming soon!
On another note, we’ve also FINALLY gotten started over at The House Happy Built, our homestead in progress. You can check that out here.
Okay… I think we’re all caught up to speed!
For the rest of the summer, I promise to:
-Stay put
-Finish the baby nook
-Do super domestic things like set up my office and purge closets
-Eat all the watermelon. All of it.
-Stop gaining freakish amounts of weight, maybe?
-Finish reading the 1,000 birth books + parenting books on my nightstand
-Basically… chill out and get my crap together in preparation for adding a new babe and totally not having my crap together 😉
XOXO
