Today was WINDY!
But we got up early, stuffed our face with Raw & Juicy, and hit the beach thinking our love of adventure would carry us through. And it did — for 10 whole minutes! 😉
The waves were crazy and the under tow was crazy and we decided to walk up to the pool instead. Also… that $100 blanket that “sand just falls right through”? Sand most definitely does not fall right through.
The pool was awesome and the kids went hard there for two hours and made a ton of new friends. Seaside is a super small town, so we run into the same people. Cade’s on a first name basis with lots of the kiddos around and he’s always saying hi to them and it’s adorable. We’ve met some cool families!
After the pool we headed to the house and Grammy arrived! She brought a puzzle so me, Story, and Tyler worked on that for a little while Nolan napped.
Later we rode our bikes to the circle and had an amazzzzing dinner at Bud & Alleys and then let the kids run down to the beach. Biked home. And now I’m passing out as I type this 😉
The quote above struck me today. “What you do to day is important because you’re exchanging a day of your life for it.” Time is our most precious commodity. I always want to be making wise investments with mine… investments that will see a return for years and years. Experiences, not things. Relationships, not (fill in the blank). Investing in our kiddos while they’re young and taking them with us to see and do and feel and experience. We’ve worked so hard, not for money, but for what money can buy: time with them. As I exchange these days of my life one by one until they’re all gone, I want to be so intentional. It’s easy to forget, but so so important to remember.
XOXO
